The thought of beginning therapy can often be overwhelming, and we hope to make your therapy journey as seamless as possible. Below we have assembled some Frequently Asked Questions and Answers in order to help ease any anxieties you might have about starting therapy with us.  How Therapy Works

The first step in building our relationship is to schedule a 15 minute (free) consultation call. Here, we will learn a bit more about one another, the presenting concerns, and ultimately determine if therapy is a good fit for you generally. If therapy should be in order, this is also our chance to see if we are the right practice to help you, or refer you to another practice. This is informal and we encourage you to ask us questions, too!

Everyone’s first therapy session is slightly different (as all human beings are different!), but generally in this session, the therapist will ask you to articulate what you are bringing to the space, how it developed, how your feelings about it have changed over time, and the change you would like to create. The therapist will also give helpful feedback.

Together we create goals tailored to the presenting problems and areas for growth. These goals vary from client to client, and your therapist will work with you to create an individual plan that suits your specific needs. Naming what you hope to accomplish will set a structure for your journey in therapy.

We will plan to meet once a week for 45 minutes. We can also meet more frequently depending on your needs. In our sessions, your therapist will utilize different therapeutic modalities to best fit your individual needs and to achieve your goals. As your life continues and your goals change, your therapist will check in with you to make sure you get exactly what it is you need.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you accept insurance?
    Juniper Therapy is considered to be an out-of-network provider for the majority of insurance companies. This distinction allows us to provide the highest quality services to our client without bending to the limitations of insurance companies and policies. In this arrangement, a portion of your fees are often reimbursed through your insurance plan, provided you are eligible for out-of-network coverage and have met your deductible. We will be pleased to provide you with an invoice that includes all the information required to submit for reimbursement.

  • What are your fees?
    Finances should never keep anyone from seeking therapy. We are pleased to offer a sliding scale depending on what a client can afford according to their income level, upon request. Please inquire directly about a sliding scale option should this align with your needs.

  • How do I know if you are a good fit for me?
    When considering the effectiveness of therapy, the single most important variable to examine is that of the relationship between the therapist and the client. For this reason, Juniper Therapy is happy to offer clients a 15 minute call free of charge to determine if we are the right fit for your needs.

  • Is teletherapy confidential and HIPAA compliant?
    All of our services at Juniper Therapy are confidential and HIPAA compliant. We deeply value your privacy and as such, all teletherapy will be conducted within a secure online platform.
